There are 3 things that have made me a happy girl lately.
#1: Pinterest. I have a lot of free time (aka: still job hunting), but for some reason I do not have a lot of creative juices flowing. So frustrating. So imagine my excitement when I finally received my invitation to join Pinterest, the most addicting and inspiring online collaboration I've ever been a part of. You can browse oodles of inspiring pictures other people have "pinned" to their boards, including decorating ideas, crafts, foods, styles, vacation destinations, art, etc. I must warn you: it is highly addicting! But believe me, my creative wheels are spinning now.
This is a view into some of my "boards" I have created. I am still learning the ropes, but I like how it will help me remember all the cute ideas I see online that I usually forget about 10 seconds after I see them. You have to request an invitation, but I have some invitations I can send out, so let me know if you want one!
#2: Reading. I absolutely love getting sucked into a book to the point where you want to squeeze in a few pages whenever you get a chance. I recently read The Help, and by golly, I could not put it down. It is based in Jackson, Mississippi during the height of the civil rights movement, when for some reason a woman's skin color defined how she was treated. It is such an eye-opening novel that allows you to fall head-first into the nitty gritty of the character's lives. When I finished the book I truly missed these women! I can't wait for the movie this summer.
#3: And last, but definitely not least, Adele. This girl has got some soul and I think it is safe to say she is somewhat of a modern-day Aretha. This CD is played on repeat in my car, and the melodies and lyrics run throughout my head for the rest of the day. If you're feeling rather uninspired in the music genre these days, I highly recommend picking up this album, 21, or any of her others. You won't be sorry!

I'm glad I'm not the only Pinterest addict :) I'm fairly certain there are some items on my board that should look familiar to you since I've pinned them from your blog...
umm okay... give your dear roomamte an invite! I have been wanting to see what this is all about and I need an invite. Also I LOVE the book the help! I am so excited to see the movie. Also I am loving Adele currently (so much so that I have begun to consider her name a name for a future child...hehe)
LOVED The Help. Finished it in about .2 days. So excited for the movie. Love this Pinterest thing. I'm going to check into it. I've been doing something similar for the past few years with my ideas, only I've been doing a much lamer version by using Powerpoint. Ha ha! That's really embarrassing and I can't believe I just admitted that to the world...
three of my favorite things. I just finished reading The Help last night and I didn't want it to end!!! Have you read These is my words? My sister shannon read it and raves about it.
I haven't heard of Pinterest! i will have to check it out. okay, i do a ridiculous amount of reading with my lack of clientele at the salon, so i have to give my next recommendation for a southern book lover. your next book needs to be SAVING CEECEE HONEYCUTT. sooo sooo sweet. a fun, quick read, but hey. i love those southern women. have nat and i told you our dream to move to georgia? i've sent brian's resume to many atlanta companies to no avail.
